The Nailers have partnered with Augusta Levy Learning Center and EasterSeals to put together a Sensory Friendly game with decreased auditory and visual stimulation for those who have sensory sensitivities on December 8th, 2024 at 4:10 PM.

The Nailers look to promote a fun and inclusive environment for ALL hockey fans to enjoy. Please read below the following details regarding our Sensory Day celebration and how to promote an environment that all of our fans can enjoy!

Clear Bag Policy

  • Bags/Backpacks are prohibited from entering the Arena
  • Clear Bags may not exceed 12"x12"x6"
  • Clutches/Purses may not exceed 1"x6"x4"
  • Exceptions: Diaper Bags with Accompanying child, Food/Snack Bags
    • These objects are liable to search upon entry to WesBanco Arena

 

In-Arena Experiences

There are various parts of our In-Game Experiences that we feel as though all fans should be made aware of when preparing for a night with the Nailers at WesBanco Arena.

Fan Experience

The Wheeling Nailers look to promote an environment for ALL hockey fans to enjoy. We are asking Nailers Army to join us in this effort! 

Stay tuned as we look to share instructional videos on how fans can enjoy all aspects of our Sensory Day Game while also being considerate to those around them.

Game Start

Please see our Game-Start Hype Tape below for an example of the various Jumbotron activations running at the start of our game. The in-arena house lights will be on throughout the game, and ALL strobe/flashing lights that coincide with these videos will be de-activated for our game on Sunday, December 8th.

In-Arena Music

Due to copyright restrictions, we cannot include the In-Arena music that coincides with the above Game-Start Hype Tape. However, fans can expect Rock-and-Roll music to the likes of ACDC, Metallica, and others during key moments such as Player Introductions, Powerplays, Penalty Kills, and Returns from Intermission. 

Our Gameday Playlist for Sunday, December 8th will be shared shortly for fans to browse. Stay tuned for more updates regarding music changes on 12/8!

In Arena Gameplay

As stated earlier, certain elements such as the Goal Horn/Lighting/In-Arena Volume will be de-activated for our game on Sunday, December 8th.
