WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, are pleased to announce that they have added a new member to the organization. Kirk Kelleher has joined the team as Video Production Specialist.
Originally from Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, Kelleher graduated from Pennsylvania State University in May of 2017, with a degree in Communications and a concentration in Sports Theory and Multimedia Production. During his time at Penn State, Kirk produced many multimedia projects for clients, contributed to the school’s online magazine, manned several studio positions in the school’s live news station, produced audio, and designed still and motion graphics. In addition, he completed internships with the Johnstown Tomahawks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Wheeling Nailers, and Oglebay Resort and Conference Center, before joining the Nailers as Video Production Specialist. Kelleher's variety of internships helped him develop a valuable skill set. He worked in communications, marketing, and ticket sales for the Tomahawks, motion graphics and game entertainment for the Penguins, and social media for the Nailers and Oglebay.
Kirk knows his experience, passion and creativity will enhance the team’s overall presentation. One of his main goals in life is to develop more hockey fans, and he hopes to do that in Wheeling through game presentation and producing creative projects. He is excited for the season to start and to present to the fans a great year of hockey and entertainment!
Kelleher takes over the role of Video Production Specialist for Stephen Shaw, who has recently joined the AHL's Chicago Wolves.
The Wheeling Nailers will begin the 2017-18 season with two road games against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits on October 13th and 14th. The home opener at WesBanco Arena takes place on October 21st at 7:05, when the Nailers do battle with the Cincinnati Cyclones.
