WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, have announced a transaction, which takes effect immediately. Pittsburgh has reassigned goaltender John Muse to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Muse, 30, has appeared in nine games for the Nailers thus far this season, posting a 4-5-0 record, a 2.98 goals against average, and an .892 save percentage. John's Wheeling debut was a strong one, as he stopped 37 of 39 shots against the Reading Royals on October 27th, helping the Nailers to a 3-2 shootout win - their first victory of the year. Another excellent performance for the East Falmouth, Massachusetts native came during the team's recent three-game road trip, when he made 36 saves on 37 shots in a 4-1 victory against the Jacksonville Icemen. This is the eighth professional season for Muse, who won the 2012 Kelly Cup with the Florida Everblades.
The Nailers have two home games coming up this weekend, as they host the Toledo Walleye at 7:05 on Saturday, then the Cincinnati Cyclones come to town on Sunday at 3:05. Sunday's game is the return of the popular Post Game Skate with the Team, and to start off the year, all players will be participating. The next big promotional game is NailerMania on December 15th, starring WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley. Teddy Bear Toss and Ugly Sweater Night will also be part of that fun-filled night.
